Trauma

(including PTSD, single event trauma, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders)

My first desire in trauma with with clients is to establish a brave space within the therapeutic relationship. It is not always possible to feel safe, depending on what we have experienced, so we start with brave. We will work to first help you to find mood stability and improved functioning through development of coping skills and resources such as grounding, self-care and self-compassion practices, somatic work, breath-work, and mindfulness.

Once we have a solid foundation within the therapy relationship, we will then decide the best route for your therapy work. This is often a combination of interpersonal and attachment work between the client and therapist, EMDR, ego-state interventions/parts work, somatic practices, and creative/expressive interventions.
